I thought I might seek some crazy ideas for promotional use, here is one that turned up today.
Why go to a classic meeting ? > The once smelt - never forgotten aroma of Castrol R . > Ground shaking vibrations rather than ear-splitting shreiks > Being able to amble through the pits at no extra charge. > Check out the sidecar loonies. > Seeing the proud icons of yesteryear being ridden as they were meant to be. > Any further suggestions are most welcome, but be careful about those sidecar blokes, they are thin skinned!

I've got a promotional idea. In Benalla there is a radio station which rambles on all day with mundane info about Delatite Shire. It was set up to attract the tourists, and as it's FM you can only hear it when you are passing Benalla.
Some of the FM radio stations in Melbourne are similarly devoid of interest.
It would be interesting to contact some of these station owners and ask if they would like some interview material. anything recorded for Melbourne listeners could be passed on to the Benalla station.
I note that Mick Ronke records an interview each Saturday morning for another local station up here. Perhaps we could also use this material for an extended motorsport program which could also promote Historic Motorcycle Racing.
I note that the RMIT TV station is still sending out rubbish, perhaps we might suggest to them that they might be interested in OUR rubbish, as program material.
I know all of this might take a bit of effort, but it doesn't cost much to ask these people if we can 'help' them (and ourselves at the same time).
If I was living in Melbourne, I'd watch RMIT TV if there was some decent content (such as videos taken fron Historic Sidecars). That TV station has coverage over the city area, and I've seen it in Brighton.
Might be a little project for someone, to wander round and have a quiet talk to some of the bozos in charge of these facilities. |

| One thing I didn't say - most of the copy on the RMIT TV channel and many of the FM radio stations, repeats several times per day. They just might like to get some new copy. It's all recorded and a lot of it is just painful. |
