I'm going to suggest something which might sound a bit 'girley'.
How about we hold a Concours D' Elegance at our historic road race meetings.
In the past we have argued about eligibilty, however I don't believe we do anything to really promote originality in our machinery.
I for one continue to use some Japanese parts on my Seeley - not really as it was in the era.
One bike I've noticed at meetings which would be a trophy contender is Stuart Thompson's Manx. It's got a high level pipe, but otherwise it's excellent in it's originality and preparation - always immaculate.
 

 
Is your machine authentic or merely eligible?
