Those in their later years will know that Arthur Wheeler competed as a privateer on almost eveything in the pre and post war years but more notably on Moto Guzzi on which he won two G P's and the N W 200 no less than five times plus countless other events. At 84 he was the elder statesman of classic racing and never missed the TT Classic parade and supporting classic races. He visited Oz regularly since the late 80's often riding Ken Lucas bikes and more recently his own 250 Ducatti at Phillip Island and Queensland meetings. His last visit was in January when he competed at P I and Eastern Creek On the vist he was accompanied by his mate John Kidson. I am proud to have become a close friend in recent years as my wife has become with Ruby. We have stayed in their home which is just full of trophies and I now am the proud owner of his MK8 KTT which he bought new. Unfortunately Arthur had a fall while walking in his home town of Worthing UK and injured his shoulder with a lot of bruising which became infected. He passed away a few days ago. He will be sadly missed. Those of us who knew him thought him invincible. He was a true GENTLE MAN
The funeral will be on Monday June 18th.
If anyone would like the address please phone me on 03 58 314114
