Just a reminder to all you classic racing motorcyclists, that the Ken Blake memorial 'get together' is being held on Saturday night 9th June at 7pm. The venue is the Sir John Peel hotel in Peel St North Melbourne, across the road from Eddie Garner's bike shop, on the corner of Queensbury St and Peel St (opposite the little park). All welcome, but bring your taxi fare, you might not be able to drive home. Look forward to seeing you there.

For those of you who don't know your history:
Five kilometers into the fifth of six laps of the Isle of Man Senior TT, Kenny Blake's 350Yamaha, flat out as always, flew off the road into a concrete post, killing him instantly. Ken had won the Castrol Six hour race in 1973 with a brilliant solo ride. He downed Agostini at Laverton in 1976, when he and a few of the boys got their new RG500 Suzukis. Ken was eighth in the Senior TT when the intermittent wet - dry conditions caught him out. He had worked his way up from the rear of a field of 110 riders.

Didn't see many historic racers at the Ken Blake turn. Ray Quincey and Gregg Johnson were there, and a few others. The do is held every year at Isle of Man TT time, in Melbourne. Hope to see you there next year - all welcome!
