There is now a drive to recruit members to the Winton Motorcycle Club. Winton Motorcycle Club has been formed in conjunction with Benalla Auto Club and its promoter and raceway management company, Winton Motor Raceway Pty Ltd.
Winton Motor Raceway Pty Ltd manages Winton Motorcycle Club's day-to-day matters such as accounts and correspondence. If you wish to join WMC please ring Matthew Crossman on (03) 5766 4235.
Membership of WMC has many benefits. Membership endows reciprocal rights with Benalla Auto Club. There are discounts on practice, and free entry to major events, social nights etc., discounts on events promoted by other parties than Winton Motor Raceway Pty Ltd.
Membership now stands at about forty fully paid up members. When this number reaches fifty, it is intended to apply for MA affiliation, to enable members to compete in open competition. In addition it is possible for members of WMC to gain a Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) licence.
Members of WMC have been welcomed by Benalla Auto Club, to participate in their car events such as the club sprints and the fun day on 20th January 2002. At the fun day unfortunately, the insurance cover is through CAMS, so only cars can be used.
WMC will be holding track days for morocycles on weekends, in the future, when adequate insurance can be arranged.
Current WMC activities include social ride days, around the countryside in NE Victoria, and preparation of a motocross track at Winton.
If you are interested in motorcycling, or racing motorcycles and/or cars, we'd love to hear from you. If you wish to join WMC, even as a second club, you will be very welcome. Please come along and help to make this exciting initiative a success!
