It is my sad duty to inform you of the death on Saturday of one of our fellow motorcyclists at Hidden Valley. George Heggie, from NSW, has died from injuries sustained in an accident during practice.

George first raced in Darwin last year and quickly became a friend to all around and will be sadly missed.

On behalf of the Top End Road Racing Association I extend our condolence to George's widow and family.

Garry Stubbs.

I wish to extend my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to George Heggie's family. At least we can all draw some comfort in knowing that he died doing something he loved.

I would just like to second this. It is sad to hear of an injury, much less a death at a meeting. My sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of George Heggie.

I would like to set up a special page for riders who loose their lives at race meetings as a tributue to them. If anyone has a picture of George Heggie, can you please e-mail it to the webmaster.

I feel it is a small thing we can do after what the rider has done for the sport over the years.

I hope this is alright with all readers.

Once again, please accept our sympathy and condolences of the loss of a fellow rider.
